User:Ibn Ridwan - inspired by the life of Egyptian Abu’l Hasan Ibn Ridwan Al-Misri (998-1061 AD), son of an impoverished bakery employee. He pursued the natural sciences, logic, astronomy, metaphysics, and medicine. Appointed Chief Physician of Cairo during the Fatimid rule, he influenced civic planning, the urban environment and public health. Influenced by works of Hippocrates and Galen, his own writings were translated into Latin, Turkish and Hebrew.
